Country

“In this country, when the land is your life... you fight for your life.”

Jewell Ivy (Jessica Lange) works the family farm in Iowa alongside her husband Gil (Sam Shepard), and the numbers still won't come out in their favor. Gil has stopped believing the place will ever pay, but Jewell decides to fight for it, for their children and for the land. Richard Pearce, filming on location in Dunkerton and Readlyn, leaves the couple with Otis (Wilford Brimley) and the work, the farm quiet around them.
