Cousin Angelica

Luis (José Luis López Vázquez), a single middle-aged man, travels from Barcelona to Segovia to bury his mother's remains in the family vault. His aunt Pilar puts him up in the old house where he spent the summer of 1936, and downstairs lives Angélica (Lina Canalejas), his first love, now married with a daughter. Carlos Saura lets the boy Luis walk through the grown man's days, and Luis is still the same boy in a country where the war has barely ended.
