In 1609, the men of a small fishing village in the French Basque Country are out at sea, and no one can say who is left to protect the women. Judge Rostegui (Àlex Brendemühl), sent by the king to root out the devil's wiles, arrives and arrests Ana (Amaia Aberasturi) and her friends on a charge of witchcraft. Pablo Agüero keeps the focus on the bond between Ana and the other accused women, held together as the questioning begins.
