“Hill and Spencer! They're a pair of car-crashing, womanizing, rough-housing loudmouths... and they're the good guys!”

Two unemployed men set out to rob a store and break into a police office by mistake. Matt Kirby (Terence Hill) and Wilbur Walsh (Bud Spencer) leave Captain McBride (David Huddleston) with a better idea than arresting them, and they are recruited on the spot. Enzo Barboni sends them out in the middle of a case, where Matt talks fast and Wilbur settles things with a fist.
