Crimes of Passion

“It's a Lovely Life.”

Joanna Crane (Kathleen Turner) runs a fashion design business by day and wants more than it gives her, so at night she becomes China Blue, a prostitute. Two men take notice: Bobby Grady (John Laughlin), a private detective stuck in a marriage gone cold, and Reverend Peter Shayne (Anthony Perkins), a priest carrying a murderous sex toy. Ken Russell shoots the nightlife underworld in saturated, anxious color, and the film opened to controversy.
