“Carefree Cary Grant on a gay holiday with his lovely bride walks right into DANGER!”

Dr. Eugene Ferguson (Cary Grant) is an American surgeon traveling with his wife Helen (Paula Raymond), and he has no interest in anyone's politics. A revolution in a South American country drags them in, and Eugene is ordered to operate on the dictator, Raoul Farrago (José Ferrer). Richard Brooks, adapting a short story by George Tabori, keeps the pressure close and slow, one room and one patient at a time.
