“If It's On TV, It Must Be The Truth.”

Manolo Bonilla (John Leguizamo) is a Miami television reporter who flies to Ecuador chasing a story he thinks will make his name. The story is the "Monster of Babahoyo," a serial killer, and Manolo wants the exclusive on him badly enough to start leaning on Vinicio Cepeda (Damián Alcázar), a man the local people have already begun to judge. Sebastián Cordero shows how a journalist who needs a story can start treating people as material.
