Crooklyn

“A new look at the old neighborhood.”

It's the summer of 1973 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, and the Carmichael house is loud with five kids and not much money. Carolyn (Alfre Woodard) teaches school and runs the family, while her husband Woody (Delroy Lindo), a jazz musician, keeps chasing the music instead of a steady paycheck. Spike Lee, writing with his siblings, follows young Troy (Zelda Harris) through a season in which the bills and the arguments keep piling up.
