“Where women wait to seal your fate!”

David Talbot (William Powell) is a French diplomat who has built a settled life since recovering from amnesia, and all he wants is to keep it. Then Henri Sarrou (Basil Rathbone) turns up with a claim on crimes David cannot remember, and he has no way to prove them false. Jack Conway sets David beside his wife Lucienne (Hedy Lamarr), whose trust the blackmail puts under strain.
