Cry-Baby

(1990)Directed by John Waters85 min · PG-13Comedy, Romance
“Good girls want him bad. Bad girls want him worse.”

Allison Vernon-Williams (Amy Locane), a well-behaved schoolgirl in 1950s Baltimore, defies her society grandmother by falling for Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker (Johnny Depp), a motorcycle-riding delinquent. The town's drapes, the squares, and a jealous boyfriend all line up against the match. John Waters stages it as a full teen musical, packing the frame with a huge, mismatched cast and playing every number with a straight face.
