Sandra Marshall (Barbara Stanwyck) comes to the Caldwell estate after the death of her husband, a visit to the family she never met. At the head of it sits Mark Caldwell (Errol Flynn), who keeps the household and its laboratory behind closed doors. Peter Godfrey follows her as every answer she asks for leads to another locked room, and she stays on, determined to find out what the family is hiding.
