“Part Heaven... Part Hell... Pure Havana.”

Major Robert Dapes (Sean Connery) is a British mercenary who arrives in Cuba in 1958 to train General Batista's army against Castro's guerrillas. He also hopes to find Alexandra Lopez de Pulido (Brooke Adams), a former lover who is now married to an unscrupulous plantation owner. Richard Lester shot it in Panavision and took a good deal from Casablanca, setting the revolution's build-up around the old affair.
