“Madness. Terror. Murder.”

A string of killings across Tokyo shares one odd feature: every murderer is caught almost at once, with no memory of the act. Detective Takabe (Koji Yakusho) traces them all to Mamiya (Masato Hagiwara), a young man with no recollection of his own past, whom he keeps questioning. Kiyoshi Kurosawa gives Takabe a sick wife and a case that won't close, and the longer he watches Mamiya, the more of his own steadiness he loses.
