Elizabeth Blair (Shirley Temple) is a curly-haired orphan who sings for anyone who will listen, and she is not about to be separated from her older sister Mary (Rochelle Hudson). Their charm catches the eye of the wealthy Edward Morgan (John Boles), who quietly adopts both girls under the name "Mr. Jones." Irving Cummings fills the picture with song and keeps the camera close on Temple.
