Cuties

Amy (Fathia Youssouf), an 11-year-old Senegalese-French girl raised in a traditional Muslim household, slips away from home and into a school dance crew called the cuties, led by Angelica (Medina El Aidi). Her mother is left bewildered by the girl she thought she knew. Maïmouna Doucouré's debut feature follows Amy as she tries to belong, half of her still at the kitchen table and half already on the screen.
