A passenger plane goes down in a storm, and a handful of survivors pull themselves onto a small tour boat that the current then carries far out to sea. René Cardona Jr. keeps the Priest (Arthur Kennedy), Sheila (Carroll Baker), and the rest packed onto the deck under the hot sun, with little food and less clean water. As the days drag on, the people who shared a lifeboat start watching one another differently.
