Cyrano de Bergerac

In seventeenth-century France, the swordsman and poet Cyrano de Bergerac (Gérard Depardieu) is in love with his cousin Roxane (Anne Brochet). He has never told her, because he is sure his large nose rules him out. Jean-Paul Rappeneau, adapting Rostand's play, keeps the film moving at a gallop, with duels and verse running at the same quick pace.
