Daguerrotype
An aging photographer's obsession with the daguerreotype, the earliest photographic process, draws Stéphane (Olivier Gourmet) deeper into his work and will not let him go. His daughter Marie (Constance Rousseau) and his new assistant Jean (Tahar Rahim) are pulled into that work, and the sessions begin to change them. Kiyoshi Kurosawa holds his camera still on rooms and doorways and lets the film's unease gather there.
