“Dare to live.”

In 1986 a doctor tells Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey), a Texas cowboy who drinks, takes drugs and sleeps around, that he has HIV and thirty days left. Jean-Marc Vallée follows him as he smuggles unapproved medicine across the border for himself, then sells it to other sick men, with Rayon (Jared Leto) as his partner and the FDA closing in. Under the hustle sits a plainer question of who gets treated and who gets left to die.
