Dance First

“Think later.”

Samuel Beckett (Gabriel Byrne) has been a Resistance fighter, a husband, a Parisian night owl and a Nobel Prize-winning playwright, and by the film's opening he has withdrawn from nearly all of it. The story moves between the older man and Young Samuel (Fionn O'Shea), the Irishman who fell in with James Joyce (Aidan Gillen). James Marsh, working from Neil Forsyth's script, takes his title from Beckett's own motto, "Dance first, think later."
