Dancing Lady

“The Scenes Are Enthralling! The Electrical Ballet! Girls in Cellophane! Mirrors of Venus! Merry-Go-Round Girls”

Janie Barlow (Joan Crawford) lives to dance and will do it anywhere, even in a burlesque house, where the rich playboy Tod Newton (Franchot Tone) spots her and gets her a spot in a Broadway musical. The show's director, Patch Gallagher (Clark Gable), figures she is climbing on charm instead of talent. Robert Z. Leonard fills the backstage with showgirls, the Three Stooges and cameos from Fred Astaire and Nelson Eddy.
