Dangerous Liaisons

“some sin is beautiful.”

In 1930s Shanghai, Du Fenyu (Zhang Ziyi), a wealthy and well-connected woman, asks Xie Yifan (Jang Dong-gun) to seduce the young Dai Wenzhou's fiancée before the wedding. Hur Jin-ho adapts Laclos's 1782 novel for the Chinese screen, with Cecilia Cheung as Mo Jieyu, a woman Xie has also set his sights on. Xie treats seduction as a game he plays well, and he has not yet considered that it can be lost.
