Dangerous Love Affairs

Valmont (Gérard Philipe) and his wife Juliette (Jeanne Moreau) want to keep their marriage exciting, so each takes other lovers and reports back to the other. The one rule between them is that neither may fall in love, and it holds until Valmont meets Marianne Tourvel (Annette Stroyberg) at a ski resort. Roger Vadim sets Laclos's 1782 novel in present-day France, among well-off people who treat their own desires as a game.
