Danny the Champion of the World

In the autumn of 1955, somewhere in England, a widowed father and his young son live in a small gas station that sits on land a local developer wants to buy. Victor Hazell (Robbie Coltrane) won't accept no, and he sends inspectors and social workers to their door. Gavin Millar keeps the focus on William Smith (Jeremy Irons) and Danny (Samuel Irons), a father and son who have only ever had each other.
