Dante's Peak

“The pressure is building...”

Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan), a volcanologist, wants the small town of Dante's Peak to take its dormant mountain seriously. He arrives to investigate the recent rumblings and keeps finding readings that say the ground is waking up. Roger Donaldson stages the disaster with practical effects and keeps the pace brisk, with Linda Hamilton as the town's mayor, Rachel Wando, in the middle of it.
