Danton

In 1793 Georges Danton (Gérard Depardieu) leaves his quiet life in the countryside and comes back to Paris to challenge the Terror. His old friend Maximilien Robespierre (Wojciech Pszoniak) now runs France and has no patience for rivals, even one he once fought beside. Andrzej Wajda sets them across a table from each other, Danton loud and heavy in his chair, Robespierre pale and still.
