“A young girl dies ...”

A car strikes a young girl on a quiet road in rural Vermont, and the driver is a city man who barely slows down. Her grandfather answers with a death curse, and Sal Devito (J.J. Barry) goes looking for a local medium, Adrianna Putnam (Kim Hunter), to get it lifted. Martin G. Goldman, who co-wrote the script with his two leads, treats a single moment of carelessness as a debt that somebody has to pay.
