Dark Water

“Don't let the water reach you.”

In a rundown apartment building, Yoshimi Matsubara (Hitomi Kuroki) settles in with her six-year-old daughter, hoping to start over in the middle of an ugly divorce. Hideo Nakata lets a dark stain spread across their ceiling while water keeps dripping from the unit above. The film is about a mother holding herself together for her child, and how far a parent will go to keep one safe.
