(1935)Directed by George Cukor130 minDrama, Romance, Adventure
“1935's most beloved motion picture!”

In Victorian England, young David (Freddie Bartholomew) is sent away from home and into a life of hard work and harder lessons. George Cukor follows him from boyhood into manhood, where he becomes David Copperfield as a Man (Frank Lawton). Through every rough turn, the one steady presence is his formidable Aunt Betsey Trotwood (Edna May Oliver), whose gruff care becomes the closest thing David has to a home.
