David Holzman's Diary
David Holzman (L.M. Kit Carson) loses his job, gets a camera, and starts filming himself in his Upper West Side apartment, sure that a record of his days will help him understand his own life. He turns the lens on his girlfriend Penny (Eileen Dietz), his neighbors, and strangers on the subway, talking to the camera as if it were a friend. Jim McBride made the film on a tiny budget over several days, then presented it as a real man's diary.
