Dead Birds

“There are worse things than dying.”

Near the end of the Civil War, a band of Confederate deserters robs a bank and rides to an abandoned plantation to wait out the search for them. William (Henry Thomas) and Sam (Patrick Fugit) ride with the group, which also includes Clyde (Michael Shannon). Alex Turner keeps them inside the empty house, where William is the one who cannot stop listening to it.
