Dead Man's Letters

“Remember your humanity and forget the rest.”

Nobody in the basement of a former history museum can say how long the world above has been dead, but Professor Larsen (Rolan Bykov) keeps a group of adults and children alive down there after the nuclear catastrophe. Every night he composes letters in his head to his son, who will never read them. Lopushansky, in his directorial debut, films it in a murky sepia, so the survivors look like figures already fading out of a photograph.
