“His revolution was televised.”

How does a man end up wired to a hostage with a shotgun and a dead man's switch? In 1977, Tony Kiritsis (Bill Skarsgård), a former real estate developer, ties himself to mortgage banker Richard Hall (Dacre Montgomery) and demands $5 million and a personal apology. Gus Van Sant keeps the two men joined, Kiritsis gripping the line, Hall silent at the end of it.
