Anthony Curtis (Larenz Tate) leaves the Bronx for the Marines, serves as a Recon Marine in Vietnam, and comes home in 1973 to a country with nothing waiting for him. Allen and Albert Hughes follow him through unemployment, money trouble and the nightmares he can't shake, until he and a few fellow vets start planning an armored car robbery. The film shows how little the country gives back to the Black and Latino men it sends to war.
