Dead to Rights

“Every Chinese will not forget the history.”

Su Liuchang (Liu Haoran) is a postman in Nanjing in 1937 who wants only to get himself and the people around him through the winter alive. To do it he poses as a photo developer, working for the Japanese forces while he hides Chinese refugees in a photographic studio. Shen Ao keeps him at that bench among the negatives, where every roll he develops could save the people sheltering with him or get them all killed.
