Deadline at Dawn
“Fate points the finger of suspicion... and one evening of innocent fun turns into a nightmare of MURDER!”
One night in 1946, Alex Winkler (Bill Williams), a young Navy sailor, wakes from a drinking blackout with a bag of money and no memory of how he got it. A woman has been killed, and with only hours until dawn he sets out to learn why, helped by a dance-hall girl, June Goffe (Susan Hayward). Harold Clurman, in his only film as director, keeps Alex and June moving through the dark under Nicholas Musuraca's photography.
