“Tonight they will rise from the darkness beneath the city... to feed!”

In 1982 Toronto, a shipment of grain laced with steroids gets fed to rats, and they grow to the size of small dogs. Paul Harris (Sam Groom), a college basketball coach, and Kelly Leonard (Sara Botsford), a city health inspector, start tracing the attacks as the bodies pile up. Robert Clouse keeps them side by side through the investigation, two people thrown together by the rats that are eating their city.
