Dear Comrades!

Lyuda Semina (Yuliya Vysotskaya) is a devout party activist in the industrial town of Novocherkassk in 1962, and she believes in the system she serves. When the government raises food prices, the workers go on strike, and her own father (Sergei Erlish) is among the people the town now fears. Andrei Konchalovsky follows what happens between a mother who trusts the Party and a daughter, Svetka (Yulia Burova), who has walked into the crowd.
