Death in the Garden

“Torrid!… Tantalizing!… Tempestuous!…”

In a remote diamond village in the South American jungle, the miners rise against a government that has sent soldiers to crush them. When the revolt is put down in blood, five people run for the trees: Djin (Simone Signoret), Castin (Charles Vanel), Chark (Georges Marchal), Father Lizzardi (Michel Piccoli) and Chenko (Tito Junco). Luis Buñuel sends them into the Amazon with soldiers behind them, a river ahead, and no one among them who trusts anyone else.
