Death in Venice

Gustav von Aschenbach (Dirk Bogarde) is a composer who goes to Venice for his health and takes a room at the Grand Hôtel des Bains on the Lido. Among the other guests he notices Tadzio (Björn Andrésen), an adolescent Polish boy staying there with his family, and he cannot stop looking. Luchino Visconti sets the story to Mahler's symphonies, and Aschenbach, a man of discipline and reputation, stays on at the hotel to watch the boy.
