Death Note

“The battle of wits begins. Whose side are you on?”

In present-day Tokyo, the college student Light Yagami (Tatsuya Fujiwara) comes across a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. He starts using it on criminals, aiming to build a world without crime, until an international detective known only as L (Kenichi Matsuyama) is brought in to hunt him down. Shusuke Kaneko adapts the manga for the screen and sets the investigation moving through Tokyo at a steady, quiet pace.
