Fifteen years after a gang killed his family in front of him, Bill Meceita (John Phillip Law) rides out to find the men responsible. Ryan (Lee Van Cleef), a gunfighter with a vengeance of his own, keeps crossing his path, sometimes as an ally and sometimes as a rival who clearly knows more than he says. Giulio Petroni sets the two of them on the same trail, and each man's reason for wanting the gang dead is bound up with the other's.
