A storm hits the undersea lab Aquatica, and the researchers inside find they are trapped with the mako sharks they have been experimenting on. Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) altered the animals' brains to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease, and the sharks have come out of it smarter and faster. Renny Harlin keeps Carter Blake (Thomas Jane) and the crew sealed in the flooding facility, with every exit leading back to the water.
