Deewaar

Vijay Verma (Amitabh Bachchan) grew up poor in the slums of Mumbai, and he wants never to be that helpless again. His younger brother Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) takes the opposite road, becoming a police sub-inspector. Yash Chopra sets the two brothers on opposite sides of the law, and the film turns on what still holds between them, and on their mother Sumitra Devi (Nirupa Roy), who loves them both.
