Judgment City is a gleaming way station where the newly dead are put on trial, and Daniel Miller (Albert Brooks), an advertising executive, arrives there after dying suddenly. He has to prove to his lawyer, Bob Diamond (Rip Torn), that he lived with enough courage to move on, and he is not sure he did. Albert Brooks wrote and directed this one, and it gives Daniel a chance to feel alive again through Julia (Meryl Streep), who has no trouble being bold.
