Demetrius and the Gladiators

“It begins where "The Robe" left off!”

Christ's robe has been handed to Peter (Michael Rennie) for safekeeping, and Caligula wants it back for the power he believes it holds. Demetrius (Victor Mature), the former slave of the dead Marcellus, sets out to keep it from him, and in Rome he draws the attention of Messalina (Susan Hayward), wife of Claudius. Delmer Daves puts the two of them in Technicolor CinemaScope, a woman who tempts and a man whose faith she has already begun to loosen.
