Why would a group of men volunteer for the Iran-Iraq war, which ran from September 1980 to August 1988? In Masoud Dehnamaki's film, the answer for Suzuki is a girl's father who needs convincing that he is worthy of his daughter. Zanyar (Kourosh Tavahodi) and Yahya (Amir Rap Hashiye) go along, and the war changes a man whose reasons for coming were never about the war itself.
