Desire

“Love was her precious loot!”

A string of pearls vanishes in Paris, and Madeleine de Beaupré (Marlene Dietrich) is the one who took them. To get the pearls past the French border, she slips them to Tom Bradley (Gary Cooper), an American engineer who is driving to Spain on his vacation and has no idea what he is carrying. Frank Borzage follows her as she tries to take them back, and the plan keeps running into the fact that wanting the pearls back and wanting Tom are hard to tell apart.
