Bunny Watson (Katharine Hepburn) runs the research department at a television network, and she can answer almost any question put to her without leaving her chair. Then Richard Sumner (Spencer Tracy), an expert in electronic computers, starts wandering the office with a tape measure and a great many questions of his own. Walter Lang films it mostly in one busy room, letting the talk move at the speed of people who have worked together for years.
