“It isn't very pretty…”

Peggy Gravel (Mink Stole) kills her husband, and she and her murderous maid Grizelda flee to Mortville, a lawless town of outcasts and sleaze. John Waters fills the place with misfits who answer to Queen Carlotta (Edith Massey), a ruler with her own ideas about order. Peggy is hardly a stranger to craziness, but here she must find a place among people stranger than herself.
